Method 1: Check if you are already logged in:

- Click on the “down” arrow from the top right corner of the FB page

Method 2: Try the default recovery options:
If you have lost access to your account and you are nowhere logged in, you need to perform the traditional recovery methods. Here are the ways you can use to recover your FB account:
Recover password using email id:
FB always asks you to add a recovery/secondary email address which you can later use to recover your account. In order to recover your password use the email address using the below-given steps:
- Go to FB.com using browser and open the login page
- Now click on “Forgot Password” to recover the password
- On the next screen, choose “recovery email” from the list of options.
- Provide the email address that you registered with FB.
- After adding the recovery, you will be asked to log in to the same address.
- Once you are logged in, you need to access the recovery link sent by FB.
- Alternately, you can add the recovery code you receive on the email.
Recover account using the registered phone number:
- First, go to the Facebook sign-in page
- Now click on Facebook password on the prompt screen
- Next, select the “get a code from my smartphone”
- You will receive the recovery code on your phone.
- Recreate your password and repeat it to confirm
- Now login to your account using the same password.
Method 3: Report the hack to Facebook:
If your account has been hacked, you can directly report it to Facebook using the option namely “report it as compromised”. Follow the steps to do so:
- Go to https://www.facebook.com/hacked/
- Provide your email Id or phone number associated with your Facebook account
- Now you will be asked to enter your Current password and email address
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
Facebook will recover your account if it finds it compromised and you will receive a notification on your email as well phone.
Method 4: Use trusted contacts to recover FB account:
Your trusted contacts will help you recover your FB account. All, you need is to identify your trusted contacts. The step-by-step method is given here below:
- Sign in to your Facebook account
- Now, from the home screen of Facebook, go to Settings that is present at the upper-right corner of the screen.
- From the left corner, click Security and login
- Next select Choose friends area.
- In the What are trusted contacts dialog box, select Choose trusted contacts
- Click Confirm.
- After being satisfied with the list of chosen contacts, click Close
Now, once you are done setting up the list of your trusted contacts, follow the below-given steps to use them to regain the access to your Facebook account
- Go to Facebook login page
- Now click Forgot Account
- On the Reset, your Password page, click No longer have access to these.
- Next, click on “How Can we reach you” screen, type the email address as well as a phone number.
- Click Continue
- Tap on Reveal my trusted contacts and then type the name of your contacts
- Follow the instructions you receive and the recovery code link. Send the same link to your friends and ask them to share the code with you
- Enter the code to recover your Facebook account

If nothing works in your case, you can simply create a new one. This happens when your account recovery information is not updated, and you have no option to receive the verification code or not able to verify your identity.
